What are you reading....
I am patiently awaiting my copy of 'The Weight Of Silence'...a suggested read from a dear friend who manages a Borders book store...I find a good read so difficult to find and am always amazed at how hard it is for others to offer suggestions...I hate when I go to the library or a book store and walk away empty handed...as a child we never had money for books...I remember waiting each year for the beloved R.I.F. Van to come to our school so that I would be able to find that one special free of charge book...because of this I take my children to the book store twice a year and allow them to grab whatever will keep them happy for the next six months...needless to say these trips cost me hundreds of dollars...we go to the library at least twice each month but as we all know there is nothing like the purchase of a new book...often when I go into the book store I have spent hours researching book lists the evening prior...I search every leading magazine and newsprint's top ten lists and have these lists in hand...I proceed to locate all ten of 'the best'...I purchase these with excited anticipation only to find one out of the ten grabbing me the way I want every book to grab me...I end up either giving my choices to friends or donating them to the library...I work hard when I write to be certain my book does not turn me off...work hard at not putting in the repetitive...the paragraphs no one reads...so why then can I not get published? And why can I not find a decent read?
